Choose a photo that engraves well

Your photo is converted into a monochrome engraving, so image quality makes a big difference. For the clearest result, upload the original photo whenever possible.

For people and portraits

• Choose a clear, well-lit photo with the face large in the frame.
• The face and important details should be sharp and in focus.
• Close-up or face-centred portraits usually work better than distant photos.
• Avoid dark, blurry, heavily filtered, low-resolution, or tiny cropped images.
• Avoid group photos when the person you want engraved appears very small.

For pets

• Choose a clear photo where the pet's face and key features are easy to see.
• Good lighting and strong contrast help preserve fur, eyes, and facial detail.
• Avoid photos where the face is hidden in deep shadow or the pet is very far away.

For handwriting

Upload a sharp, straight-on photo of the handwriting on plain paper. Keep the writing fully visible, well lit, and free of shadows.

Dog Tag personalization

For a photo Dog Tag, upload the photo directly on the product page before adding the item to your cart. You can also add optional text for the back.

Back: “Forever in my heart”

Names, dates, initials, and messages

Use the Engraving details field on the product page for names, dates, initials, placement requests, or other short instructions. Keep text concise for the best readability on a small pendant.

Photo engravings are reproduced in monochrome. The finished engraving can differ from a full-colour screen image because of lighting, contrast, cropping, material, and the engraving process.
